How PowerLung Works

There are muscles that support your breathing. Just like any other muscle in your body, the best way to make them stronger and more efficient is to strength train them. Imagine a person who trains or exercises with weights, machines or exercise bands. When a person is training, he or she must ?work? against something, a resistance.

How to increase lung capacity with PowerLung

In this case, lifting and lowering the weight. The weight creates a workload ? resistance ? for the muscles to work against and overcome. The more the person repeats the pattern of the exercise, the stronger his or her muscles become. As it becomes easier to do the exercise the person can increase the threshold to help make the muscles stronger.

That is threshold resistance, a proven method of training used only by PowerLung. When you breathe in and out through PowerLung, you are working against a threshold of resistance that is the same for every breath. You are not breathing through a restricted orifice where the load can be reduced just by changing the way you breathe.

I purchased this product on the recommendation of my osteo who has been treating my back pain. He noticed irregularities with my breathing and high position of my diaphragm and advised this would be a good health aid with his osteo treatment.

I initially found it very difficult but went for this trainer model on the advice from Helen that cell sets can be added to reduce/increase the resistance and my personal circumstances i.e age/fitness levels etc. Glad I bought the green model as a best fit. So far so good, too early to give long term results.

The customer service from Cartwright Fitness was excellent, Helen was very knowledgeable on helping me choose the right model. The product arrived next day even with a late afternoon online order so an excellent company to deal with and one I fully recommend!

I have been using the green PowerLung now for 2-3 weeks. It has certainly made my breathing feel easier and over the period I I have found that my peak flow readings have increased by at least 10%. The verdict is still out as to whether it has helped my stamina improve – as I think this also depends on what other exercise activities are on
going. So, overall, the PowerLung is expensive, but on balance worth it
