How does PowerLung BreathAir Work?

Some muscles support your breathing. Like any other muscle in your body, the best way to make them stronger and more efficient is to strength train them. Imagine a person who trains or exercises with weights, machines or exercise bands. When a person is training, he or she must ?work? against something, resistance.

How to increase lung capacity with PowerLung

In this case, lifting and lowering the weight. The pressure creates a workload for the muscles to work against and overcome. The more the person repeats the pattern of the exercise, the stronger his or her muscles become. As it becomes easier, you increase the threshold resistance to make muscles stronger.

That is threshold resistance, a proven method of training used only by PowerLung.?When you breathe in and out, you are working against the same resistance for every breath. You are not using a restricted orifice where the load is changing the way you breathe.

I have been using the yellow powerlung model for three months. I do my powerlung exercises before my breathing exercises on a daily basis. Then I do my singing exercises. After these 3 months of using powerlung (in combination with simple breathing exercises) I am now able to hiss and exhale for more seconds (2m and sometimes even 2m30s) without facing much breathlessness. I also noticed that my tone and my legato line improved.

A very useful device for building lung strength – particularly for people who have asthma (like me) . Very efficient service from Cartwright Fitness who supply a fast delivery & went to some trouble to get a spare part for me.

I have been using the green PowerLung now for 2-3 weeks. It has certainly made my breathing feel easier and over the period I I have found that my peak flow readings have increased by at least 10%. The verdict is still out as to whether it has helped my stamina improve – as I think this also depends on what other exercise activities are on going. So, overall, the PowerLung is expensive, but on balance worth it
